Web application

The web applications (applications using a web interface) tend to supplant traditional applications thanks to the many benefits they provide :

• No software installation is required on the client, a web browser is sufficient;
• Easy scalability of applications, as it is not necessary to deploy on the client;
• Possibility of remote access;
• Compatibility with different operating systems: Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Pocket PC or mobile phone.

In addition, the advanced techniques provided by Web 2.0 and AJAX can extend the possibilities of interactivity and visualization. The browser is now a powerful platform, common to all web applications.
